Preparation for rinsing and widening of root canals

Medical device, CE 2282

The rinsing of root canals:facilitates mechanical preparation of root canals, removals of mineral part of smear layer, reduces the risk of tools fracture.

The widening of root canals:facilitates mechanical widening of narrow and curved root canals, in particular in elderly patients. Indications for restoration of canals patency in case of the presence of obliterationsand dentinomas in the canals.

Technical and medical data:

Composition:disodium edetate (EDTA), benzalkonium bromide, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

1 g of solution contains 150 mg of disodium edetate.

Primary package: brown glass bottle with cup and dropper, containing 10 g of the product.

Endosal is available also in plastic packages containing 150 g of the product.

Mechanism of action:

The product contains disodium edetate (EDTA), which reacts with mineral components of hard dental tissues (chelating) making them susceptible to mechanical treatment. Low surface tension increases penetration of the product into hard dental tissues.

Directions for use:

I. The rinsing of root canals:

Introduce Endosal to the 2/3 length of root canalusing syringe and needle (it is desirable to use a needle with side slot).

After each mechanical widening of canals rinse the canals using 2-3 ml of the product, by turns with  sodium hypochlorite solution and 3% H2O2 solution.

II. The widening of root canals:

  1. In order to expose and widen canal orifices, place a swab soaked with Endosal in the pulp chamber for 24 hours.
  2. In order to restore patency or widen a canal diameter, often rinse canalwith product and leave it on 3-5 minutes. Simultaneously prepare the canal mechanically.

Special warnings and recommended precautions:

  • Do not use too strong fluid stream when rinsing a root canal since it may cause penetration of the product to periapex tissues and cause their damage manifested by pain and soft tissues edema.
  • Preparation of a root canal, in particular close to anatomical orifice, may lead to root perforation, in particular when tools over No. 30 are used, which are not as flexible as thinner ones and, with softened dentin, may cause perforation.
  • Do not use the product in the case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
  • The solution applied into the canal should be replaced frequently to maintain its activity.
  • It is obliged to use cofferdam during work with product.

Place and storage conditions:

Store tightly packed, at temperature of 5 – 25 °C.Protect from light. Keep away from children.
